Florida MMUR Limits Demystified: The Central Florida Patient’s Guide to 35 & 70-Day Rolling Allotments

CannaCare Wellness – Your Trusted Medical Marijuana Doctor in Clermont, FL

Are you a medical marijuana patient in the Clermont, Winter Garden, or Four Corners area? You’ve likely heard terms like the “35-day limit” and “70-day rolling supply” and felt a little confused. You are not alone!

Florida’s Medical Marijuana Use Registry (MMUR) limits are not like a traditional monthly prescription; they are constantly moving. This can make planning your dispensary trips tricky.

At CannaCare Wellness in Clermont, we believe patient education is key to successful treatment. Here is the dummy-proof explanation of the Florida MMUR rolling limits—in plain, simple English—so you can shop confidently.

🧠 Why Are Florida’s Limits Confusing?

The main reason is that the limits are rolling, meaning they are not tied to a calendar month or the date of your doctor’s visit. They are constantly updating, based on the date of your very first purchase.

Think of your limit as a time-based bucket that is always moving forward.

The 35-Day Rolling Limit (Smokable Flower)

This is the limit for smokable flower (whole flower, ground flower, and pre-rolls).

What the Limit Means (The Flower Bucket):

  • Standard Limit: You can purchase up to 2.5 ounces of smokable flower within any 35-day period.
  • How it Works: Every time you buy flower, that specific amount starts a 35-day countdown. It stays in your “Flower Bucket” and counts against your 2.5-ounce total until the 35 days are up.
  • The Roll: On the 36th day after a purchase, that purchase “rolls out” of your bucket, and that amount is immediately available for you to buy again.

Example: You buy 1 ounce on March 1st. You have 1.5 ounces left. On April 6th (Day 36), that first 1 ounce falls out, and your available limit is immediately restored to 2.5 ounces (assuming you made no other purchases).

The 70-Day Rolling Limit (All Other Products)

This is the limit for all non-smokable products combined. This is often called the Aggregate Limit and includes:

  • Vapes / Concentrates (Inhalation)
  • Edibles
  • Tinctures / Oils (Oral & Sublingual)
  • Topicals / Suppositories

What the Limit Means (The Aggregate Bucket):

  • Standard Limit: Your total combined THC limit for all non-smokable products is 24,500 mg within any 70-day period.
  • How it Works: Every purchase (vape cart, edible pack, tincture bottle, etc.) is tracked by its total THC milligram (mg) content and placed into a single, big “Aggregate Bucket.”
  • The Roll: On the 71st day after a purchase, that purchase “rolls out,” and the milligrams you bought are freed up for you to purchase again.

Important Note: You are subject to the total 24,500 mg aggregate cap. We work with you to distribute this limit across the routes you actually use.

⬆️ Need More? The Request for Exception (RFE)

For patients with severe or debilitating conditions that require more than the standard state allotment, CannaCare Wellness can submit a Request for Exception (RFE) to the state on your behalf.

With proper medical documentation, you may qualify for the following increased limits:

The MMUR system calculates everything automatically for you and the dispensary. You don’t have to carry a calculator!

  • Check Before You Shop: Always check your Dispensable Amount in your MMUR Patient Profile online before heading to a dispensary near Clermont. It’s the most accurate source of your current available limit.
  • Keep Your Orders Active: Your purchase limits depend on having an active, open order with your doctor. Always schedule your renewal visit at CannaCare Wellness before your current 210-day order expires to prevent any gaps in your access!
